What is breast reduction surgery?

Why undergo breast reduction?
There are several reasons why a patient may wish to undergo breast reduction surgery. Some of these reasons include:

What does it involve?
During your initial consultation with Dr Anavekar, she will find out what issues may be the result of heavy breasts, what your wishes and expectations are, and whether breast reduction surgery would be of benefit for you. She will then ask you some questions about your health and perform an examination to ensure that you are fit and safe to undergo surgery. Dr Anavekar will then go through the operation with you, as well as the risks, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and have any concerns addressed. Plastic surgery

What happens after surgery?
You will feel particularly uncomfortable for the first 48hours. This discomfort rapidly improves with each day. You will be able to drive once you feel ready to do so. It is recommended that you take 2-3weeks off from work, and that you have adequate support at home if needed. You must avoid heavy lifting for 6 weeks, and during this time you must wear a soft, firm fitting, wireless bra. Skin Cancer Surgery
